People were moved here in 1930s when Stalin's mass repressions took place (GULAG). People were equipped only with saw and axe. They had to live in extremely difficult conditions. Many of them died and there were nobody to bury them. Even at present time some explorers find earth-houses full of bones.

  • Painted Rock (Pisannii Kamen').

When you climb Painted Rock you will be impressed by the wonderful sight of the river. One bank of the river is covered with beautiful forest and another one is a plumb huge rock. Painted Rock is considered to be one of the most beautiful rocks in the Urals. And it's the best place for excellent fishing taimen and pike.

This rock consists of limestone. Many millions years ago there was a sea at this place. And now it's possible to find sea petrifactions in the rock. It has two caves.

This rock was named Painted Rock because of many ancient drawings of bear, elk, fish, marten, sable founded on the rock (about 300 drawings). Some scientists think that all these drawing are united together and present ancient map of the Urals. At the bottom of the rock there is a sacrificial place of ancient people which was in use during 4 thousand years. Animal bones, silicic weapons and earthenware crockery were founded here.
